Fulfilment

So the fashion show was a success despite having to navigate so many pitfalls. I even thought about pulling out of the show at a point but i decided to make a lemonade out of a lemon--boy am i glad i stuck with it.  We were supposed to have two designs on the show but due to an unforeseen circumstance we were only able to present one. The important thing is that we were able to generate interest in the line and as far as i am concerned , mission accomplished. Here is the beautiful model Fabyne proudly showing off our design at the Alexis park fashion show below:

Waiting to Exhale

The bureaucracy hoops I'm jumping through to get everything ready for this fashion line is driving me nuts. Not to worry, I'm a very tenacious woman and I will not give in or give up until I arrive at my destinations. Lord I surrender all. I can't wait!

The First African Fashion Show in Las Vegas

The first African Fashion Show in Las Vegas is coming up on Saturday November 27th, 2010. It is taking place at the Alexis Park All Suite Resort. It is going to be presented by Fudamike Fashion and it will be featuring a lot of vendors and designers of which AfriQ Expressions is one. This event is our coming out party and a couple of our designs will be presented as a coming attraction. We are so excited about using the event as our launching pad and hope that the event will garner us a lot of good publicity. Stay tuned.

Beginning

It is said that a journey of a thousand mile must begin with a single step. It is with this in mind that I finally took a leap of faith to start my own clothing line. I have many ideas but "Afriq Expressions" is fashion that will celebrate global culture and color. It will celebrate my own work and those whose work I admire.

Although I'm scared to death about putting myself out there, and there is also the fear of the unknown, but I'm trusting my maker with the master plan. I am now in the beginning stage. There seems to be a lot to do. I'll let you know how things are progressing. Stay tuned.
