The Met Gala, formally called the Costume
Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is an
annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume
Institute in New York
City. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute's annual fashion
exhibit. Each year's event celebrates the theme of that year's Costume
Institute exhibition, and the exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of
the night since guest are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme
of the exhibit.
The 2015 exhibition — also the costume theme for the evening
— is called “China: Through the Looking Glass.” According to
the museum’s announcement, it “will explore the impact of Chinese
aesthetics on Western fashion and how China has fueled the fashionable
imagination for centuries.”
Are you one of the lucky ones who will attend? Take the quiz
below to see if you are worthy of this elite event.
As for us mere mortals, we just have to wait and see the
pictures from the event. I can’t wait to see how the designers’ outfits
translate into Chinese influences and how the stars make it their own.
